Starfish had a fantastic start to our last week of term. They started by producing an amazing performance of ‘Born in Bethlehem’ and then have spent the week getting Christmassy with Christmas crafts and enjoying a yummy Christmas dinner. We hope you all have a great Christmas! The Turtles had a great time performing our Christmas play 'Born in Bethlehem' to our adults. The children enjoyed their forest school session making natural resource hedgehog decorations. The children sang beautifully and were really proud of their performance. We enjoyed hot chocolate and a biscuit before looking at the fabulously decorated trees. Thank you to all who came to watch us.
Starfish had an excellent time exploring Arlington Court this week. They searched for the special Christmas trees, listened to birds singing and had great fun playing in the yellow leaves! The children ventured around the magical house and The Coach House, learning all about the transport and way of life from many years ago. Starfish loved exploring the house and all the artefacts that were on display especially the ships or ‘pirate ships’ as they would tell me! In maths, we have been learning to find, subitise and represent the numbers 4 and 5. We have counted objects in our classroom, arranged them in different ways and discussed how we did it. The children had made their own Christmas tree for Arlington Court to help celebrate 200 years of the house being built. We went on a trip to see our tree as part of the trail, see the beautiful carriages of the carriage museum and to look around the highly decorated house. During outdoor learning, the children enjoyed learning about hedgehogs and made their own using playdough, sticks and stones. This week the Turtles learnt about Diwali. We first read the story of Rama and Sita. We then drew around our hands and decorated them in mehndi patterns and also made diva lamps out of model magic. |
