Jellyfish class have been focusing on rockpools this week. We worked together to create our class rockpool and then drew the outline of our own individual rockpools, using pictures and stories to help inspire us. We will then use watercolour to bring colour to our rockpools next week.
Seahorses did a range of under the sea activities for their engage day and have been lookng closely at rockpools this week. Starfish have been busy exploring the different areas of the continuous provision this week. They have been making their own ‘Sharing a Shell’ books in the writing area by cutting and sticking pictures from the story and then writing alongside them. The children have been exploring the rock pool area which we then added paintbrushes to so they could mark make in the blue salt. They also had an exciting addition to the role play area later in the week with an ice cream parlour alongside the seaside shop, they have loved making ice creams for each other!
Starfish have thoroughly enjoyed their under the sea engage day. They made plasticine hermit crabs, sea snail selfies and sea creature biscuits.
