Turtles have loved learning all about The Three Billy Goats Gruff. These pictures are of a few of the things that have kept us busy with our learning this week. This half term Starfish class have been learning how to play tennis. First of all we had to learn how to hit a ball with a bat, it was very hard but we kept on practising each week. We have all tried really hard and can now do it !
Jellyfish have been developing our charcoal skills throughout the term. As our final charcoal piece we created a treescape with a bridge for 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff and the Troll'. We used charcoal to draw trees, bridges, grass and paths and then added finer details using chalk, rubbers and black brusho. This week we have been reading The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The troll wrote to the children and asked them to build him a new bridge as the other one had been swept away. Starfish class chose which construction kit they wanted to use and accepted and completed the troll's challenge ! Turtles love our PE sessions. This week we were thinking about different ways to travel along, over, off, and around the equipment. We enjoyed learning all about Chinese New Year. We listened to the story about the great race, explored rice with tweezers and hands, looked at Chinese numbers, made tigers and made dragon masks too. After looking at dragon and lion dancing we went to the hall and made up our own dances with a partner and in a group. We even used instruments to provide the rhythm for the dances. |
