We have been celebrating Chinese New Year and the year of the tiger. We made tiger faces, dragon masks, played with rice and chopsticks, wrote cards for loved ones and did some dragon dancing in the hall.

We received a letter this week from Mummy Pig asking for our help to build a strong and safe house for her three little pigs. So we spent a day focusing on houses. We looked into different houses from around the world, built our own using a range of construction resources, then labelled and created the three little pigs original houses by collaging. Turtles have been very busy this week with their learning. We have been learning about The Three Little Pigs, using the numbers 6, 7 and 8, building houses, developing our fine motor skills, cutting, mark making and so much more. Turtles have really been enjoying their Wednesday tennis lessons with our coach Gary. Last week Turtles enjoyed their engage day thinking and learning all about Goldilocks and the Three Little Pigs. To start our topic of Traditional Tales we made flapjack using porridge oats from 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears', collaged paper plates to make pig faces for 'The Three Little Pigs and created a luscious green landscape using brusho and oil pastels with a collaged bridge for 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'. |
