Jellyfish and seahorses really enjoyed being paleontologists this week. They have sorted through sand to find dinosaur bones and fossils then delicately used a toothbrush or paintbrush to reveal what they have found.

Starfish have been busy with lots of Dinosaur activities this week. They have explored clay and created their own clay dinosaur models using skills of rolling, pushing and cutting. For their number learning they have counted mini dinosaurs and found the numeral to match the quantity, as well as ordered numbered dinosaur footprints. In the dinosaur small world area there were some dinosaurs stuck in blocks of ice that had to be rescued by using brushes, it was so cold and slippery to touch. To finish the week the children have started making papier-mâché dinosaur eggs and added the first layer of newspaper and glue mix, more layers will be added once they are nice and dry.
Jellyfish and Seahorses had a fantastic time creating their own dinosaurs out of bread. They squashed, rolled and pinched the bread into their dinosaur shape, snipped with scissors to make spikes and decorated with raisins and cheese before baking in the oven.
Jellyfish, Seahorses and Starfish have been developing their over the shoulder swing, having the correct grip of the tennis racket and making sure they watch the ball at all times in their tennis session with Gary. |
