Jellyfish class had a lovely time at Forest School. They played a range of games around the wooded area, went on a search to collect different creatures in the gardens and explored the mud kitchen. Starfish had a fantastic trip exploring Quince Honey farm. They learnt all about how honey is made and got to taste some different varieties of honey. They very much enjoyed eating the edible paper! The children then made candles by rolling a sheet of warmed beeswax and got to hold a tray of bees when learning about the different jobs of a Honey bee. The afternoon was spent exploring the garden and planting bee friendly plants. The children all had a great time!
The children had a lovely time visiting Quince Honey Farm. We got to learn about the different types of bees and their jobs, then dressed up as a honey bee and held a frame of live bees. We were then able to learn all about how honey is made before we were able to taste some different types of honey. Finally, we were able to explore the gardens and plant some bee friendly seeds. |
