To start our new topic of On The Move, we had an engage day where we focused on firefighters. We created large scale props for our firefighter role play area, drew and painted our own fire engines using watercolours and took our very own driving test to earn our licenses. The children had a fabulous day and are looking forward to the rest of the topic.

This week we have been celebrating Chinese New Year and 2024 being the year of the dragon. We created our own dragon parade with musical instruments and coloured fabric, made lots of dragon crafts, role played the Great Race and lots more within our independent learning. The children thoroughly enjoyed using the fabric, masks and drums to create our own dragon dance.Jellyfish class has been experimenting with printing this half term. We printed with string last week and used colours inspired by the Arctic. We were really pleased with how they turned out. The children have explored ice, made prints using objects and paint, completed word hunts, made pretend hot chocolate in the mud kitchen, used the balance scales to weigh and explored capacity in the water tray. The children have really been enjoying their weekly tennis sessions. The children had a lovely time at Exmoor Zoo. We pretended to be penguins, stroked an owl and saw a range of animals. Starfish had a fantastic time at Exmoor Zoo. Although it was super cold, the animals braved the weather to say hello. The Exmoor Beast was so excited to see everyone that he was jumping up at the window to high 5 the children! Starfish had a fantastic start to our last week of term. They started by producing an amazing performance of ‘Born in Bethlehem’ and then have spent the week getting Christmassy with Christmas crafts and enjoying a yummy Christmas dinner. We hope you all have a great Christmas! |
