Jellyfish class had a fantastic time at Futures Farm this week. We got to feed Ollie the pig, turkeys and alpacas. We saw highland cows and baby chicks. We also walked the Shetland ponies Bramble and Maisy and brushed their coats too.

Jellyfish had a lovely time in forest school; exploring their natural environment and playing with friends. They even had a little water fight with Mr D to cool down in the sunshine. We have enjoyed our swimming sessions and developing our confidence in the water. We have been looking at moving in different ways through the water and kicking our legs to propel ourselves forward.
Jellyfish enjoyed their Teddy Bears Picnic at the Landmark Theatre this week. They had a packed lunch on the grass, enjoyed some entertainment that they got to try for themselves and met Wooly Bear. Jellyfish have had a busy week learning about the Queen and celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. We made Union Jack flags, crowns, and decorated cakes to share with families at home. Jellyfish had a fantastic time at Quince Honey Farm. We got to see the bees in their hives up close and learn how they make honey. We tasted 4 different types of honey and even made our own candles out of beeswax. In the afternoon we explored the hexagon gardens by doing a busy bee bingo hunt and played in the indoor play area, the play hive. This week we looked at the festival of Eid and how it is celebrated. We made our own prayer mats by layering paper and drawing patterns, we created a hanging decoration, made cards for our friends and did some bhangra dancing.
We have been celebrating Chinese New Year and the year of the tiger. We made tiger faces, dragon masks, played with rice and chopsticks, wrote cards for loved ones and did some dragon dancing in the hall. To start our topic of Traditional Tales we made flapjack using porridge oats from 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears', collaged paper plates to make pig faces for 'The Three Little Pigs and created a luscious green landscape using brusho and oil pastels with a collaged bridge for 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'. Jellyfish did an amazing job at their Christmas performance and wanted to share their favourite song from the play. |
