Clay Troll Faces

Starfish class have been learning new skills using clay. The children had designed a troll face and then made a model of it using clay. We talked about the features that the troll would have and how we could make them secure. Making a mixture of clay and a small amount of water, the children had their own pot of ‘slip’ which is like a glue for modelling. They learnt how to cross hatch and then added the slip before attaching the various parts of the face.
