Woodpeckers - Frozen Kingdom Engage Day

To start our engage day, we had a parcel delivered to us from an explorer in the Arctic asking us to help figure out a way to stop the penguin ice eggs from melting, we then investigated this throughout the day. Next, we visited a ‘Frozen Kingdom’ where we built igloos and explored snow and ice. We watched various videos about the Arctic and Antarctic to see what the landscape looked like and the different habitats where animals live before then creating our own frozen kingdom habitats which included animals . Lastly, we created frozen tree artwork by using white pastels to draw our landscape and then using various shades of brusho, which we painted over the top to create the background.
