Over the past week the children have enjoyed the festive fun. They have made their own decorations in forest school, a chocolate Yule log and more. 

Woodpeckers rose to the occasion and enjoyed performing our Christmas play of "A miracle in Town."

On Wednesday the children walked down to The High Street. They looked at the different shops and thought about what they could buy from each shop. 

In English we are reading the beautifully written and illustrated book - The High Street by Alice Melvin.   To develop descriptive language and to create ideas for our own writing, we visited our local High Street of Ilfracombe.   We looked in shop windows to see what we could find to describe.   So based on the story... "Woodpeckers are in the High Street and this is what they need..."
