This week we were visited by ‘Boo to a Goose’, a pop-up theatre company who put on a play called ‘The Magic Garden. We loved joining in with the songs and helping with the magic!
We have been learning about how a simple pulley mechanism works. We looked at pre-existing products, made our own pulleys out of construction and drew and labelled the different parts of a pulley. Swallows enjoyed learning about toys that move using levers, sliders, wheels and axles. This week Woodpeckers have been adding and subtracting using resources and mental strategies. Swallows had a great day at Skern Lodge. They experienced the traversing wall, obstacle course and learnt explorer skills, which included putting up a tent and navigating.
Kingfishers have been working hard this half term in Gymnastics, practicing rolling, climbing, balancing and tumbling.
Woodpeckers had a fantastic day at Skern Lodge learning how to become explorers. We constructed tents, created a bridge out of two pieces of wood and two tyre swings, completed an obstacle course, climbed a climbing wall and more. |
