In our maths this week, we have been learning all about 2D shapes. We loved making them with friends in a game and sorting them according to their properties. This will help us as we move onto learning about 3D shapes. We also enjoyed learning about symmetry.

This week we have been learning about symmetry. We have found symmetry in 2D shapes and we have created symmetrical patterns. We have loved all being back together this week. We were so happy to be outside and making mud cakes, exploring floating and sinking, building dens, climbing and all the other fun things we do in outdoor learning time.
We have loved World book day in Woodpeckers Class. We learnt a lot about the author Julia Donaldson because we love to share her stories together. Using a variety of her stories, we made paper dolls, wrote a postcard from Snail whilst he was off travelling with Whale and created our own terrible creature who lives in the woods just like the Gruffalo did. Usain Bolt can run 100m in 9.58 seconds. Swallows went to the bottom playground to measure how far they could run in around 10 seconds. They measured accurately and recorded their distance in metres and centimetres. In maths we have been learning about measuring. We have used centimetres and meters to measure objects and compare them. |
