On Monday the children visited Rosemoor Gardens. They all had a fantastic time and especially enjoyed planting their own pea seed. They cannot wait to see how they grow!
On Tuesday Swans went to RHS Rosemoor for a Fabulous Food workshop. We learnt about the parts of a plant, went on a vegetable hunt in Peter Rabbit's Garden and planted pea seeds to bring back to school. We enjoyed our walks around the garden looking at the beautiful plants and even found time to visit the play area in the woods!
Woodpeckers' had a fantastic time at Rosemoor exploring the gardens. We learnt about what food comes from plants and which part of the plants we eat. We explored the vegetable garden looking for different vegetable and fruit plants and finished our day with a play in the play area.
Today Swans made some vanilla biscuits. They followed the recipe very carefully and practised their weighing, mixing and spooning skills. Once the biscuits were cooled, the children decorated them with icing and sprinkles. They looked amazing!
During our Design and Technology learning Woodpeckers made their own pizzas. They made the dough in groups and then decorated their pizzas individually choosing which toppings they wanted to add. They used key skills such as mixing, kneading, cutting and grating. The children really enjoyed making their own pizza and were proud to take them home.
Swans had great fun making mud cakes, building dens and getting very muddy on our first Forest School session this term.

This week Woodpeckers have got straight back into our PE with tennis and gymnastics. We had tennis in Bicclescombe Park with our coach Gary. We didn't let the rain dampen our spirits. In gymnastics we practiced and performed rolls. We also talked about how exercise makes our bodies feel.
