Jellyfish class have been focusing on rockpools this week. We worked together to create our class rockpool and then drew the outline of our own individual rockpools, using pictures and stories to help inspire us. We will then use watercolour to bring colour to our rockpools next week.
Jellyfish class thoroughly enjoyed our under the sea engage day today. We made plasticine hermit crabs, sea snail selfies and made sea creature biscuits. Jellyfish have thoroughly enjoyed making marble butterflies this week. We created a range of marble patterns with varying colours, allowed them to dry and then cut them to create a Eric Carle inspired butterfly. We are all really happy with how beautiful they look. Jellyfish class has been looking at the life cycle of a butterfly and have create their own cocoons inspired by Eric Carle's illustrations in the story The Hungry Caterpillar. They created pages of different shades of brown and textured the paper using a range of resources. They then cut the pieces into segments to create their own cocoons. Jellyfish have made their own Hungry Caterpillar hats using a range of joining skills. Jellyfish have been creating lots of artwork around flowers. We made our own gardens using real flowers found around the school and painted our own large scale flowers on our patio whiteboard.
Jellyfish enjoyed their swimming session in our own school swimming pool. In our outdoor learning session Jellyfish planted their own sunflower seed. We are going to observe what happens over the new few weeks in class. Jellyfish children singing Spring Chicken ready for Easter. |
