Turtles class had a great time at the music workshop, learning all about the different instruments. They really enjoyed having a go at playing all of the instruments. The children had a wonderful time creating their own class band. They learnt a new song for the band, investigated the beat to songs and had multiple opportunities to experiment with a range of musical instruments before performing.
This week we have had great fun getting messy and creating a collaborative art piece using our hands and feet. Next week we will add more detail and will show you the final outcome! We have also have a fantastic musical experience today where the children have learnt a song, explored many string instruments and put their own band together.
Jellyfish class have been using their balance and coordination to navigate over, under and around different obstacles in PE this week. Turtles class have really enjoyed using lots of different mediums to make forest collages. Jellyfish class had a lovely time at Forest School. They played a range of games around the wooded area, went on a search to collect different creatures in the gardens and explored the mud kitchen. Starfish had a fantastic trip exploring Quince Honey farm. They learnt all about how honey is made and got to taste some different varieties of honey. They very much enjoyed eating the edible paper! The children then made candles by rolling a sheet of warmed beeswax and got to hold a tray of bees when learning about the different jobs of a Honey bee. The afternoon was spent exploring the garden and planting bee friendly plants. The children all had a great time!
The children had a lovely time visiting Quince Honey Farm. We got to learn about the different types of bees and their jobs, then dressed up as a honey bee and held a frame of live bees. We were then able to learn all about how honey is made before we were able to taste some different types of honey. Finally, we were able to explore the gardens and plant some bee friendly seeds. Starfish have had a busy couple of weeks. We have been on a trip to the lifeboat, had a visit from the dentist and had lots of fun during choosing time. We have made bubble wands, played teachers, made our own Naughty Bus and created some beautiful weaving Easter eggs using flowers. We hope you have a lovey Easter and we look forward to more learning and fun when we return after the holidays.
