Swallows visited Rosemoor to find out more about the plants and animals living in the gardens there. They listened carefully to see how many birds they could hear in the woods and even saw a deer running through the woods. They also enjoyed finding out about where, at Rosemoor, different minibeasts live.
Swallows were excited to start swimming last week. We focused on developing our confidence in the water and used floats to swim to the other side of the pool. In maths, the children solved problems by sharing cubes into equal groups and learnt how to use the division symbol. In Swallows the children chopped various vegetables and grated cheese to make their own pizza topping.
Swallows class really enjoyed making ice cream sundaes. They then recorded the ingredients they had used and their step by step instructions.
The Swallows had a great time making potions using mud, leaves, water, grass and a sprinkle of magic. They then wrote a set of instructions for how to make their potion.
The children in Swallows had a lovely day at Rosemoor Gardens learning about ‘Fantastic Food.’ They learnt about plants, found different vegetables in the gardens and planted their own lettuce seeds.
