This week the children started their new topic about space. On Tuesday we had a wonderful engage day. In the morning the children visited Mr Barbers mobile planetarium. He told us facts about the Sun, Earth and Moon. He also told us the Myth of Orion and showed us the constellation for Orion in the night sky that was projected in the dome. Next the children visited a 'crash site' at the top of the school. A mysterious object was caught on the school's CCTV crashing into a tree. The children investigated who they thought it was and what they were doing. In the afternoon the children learnt about the planets in the Solar System. They created a piece of Solar System artwork by decorating planets with a range of media e.g. sandy paint, pastels, glitter and pens. The whole class had such a fun day and are excited to learn more about space.
