This half term Elephants have thoroughly enjoyed swimming. We have been moving in the water, floating and learning to put our faces in the water. Zebras enjoyed exploring the different sounds the instruments made and practised playing louder, quieter, faster, slower and in time with a beat. Elephants have enjoyed the October sunshine in Forest School this week. We have been creating clay tree people and also learning to make a spark to light a fire. This week the children in Lions Class have enjoyed working with clay and learning to light a fire with a fire lighter and some cotton wool.
The children in Zebras have been designing an enclosure for an animal. They thought about what an animal would need in an enclosure and remembered those they had seen at the zoo. The children in Lions class have been talking about how to take care of animals. After our visit to Exmoor Zoo we discussed what the enclosures for the animals were like and what they needed to stay fit and healthy. Here the children have used a range of construction to design an animal enclosure.
This week in gymnastics Elephants have been stretching and rolling. In music we have been finding out about tempo and playing the percussion instruments to the beat of our song. |
