Elephants have been busy making African prints this week. First they made an impression on their foam tile and then set about printing a repeating pattern using different colours. They also explored printing onto fabric. This week the children in Lion and Zebra class have been enjoying their tennis session with Gary, the tennis coach. The children have been practising their swing to perfect hitting the ball over the net. This week Elephant Class have been looking at how to measure the weather. First, we have made a rain gauge. Each week we will measure the rainwater that we collect and record the amount in our weather diaries. This week we collected 2cm of rain. Next, we used a thermometer to measure the outside temperature in Ilfracombe. Today it was 10 Celsius – quite chilly! Finally, we made our own windsocks to measure the direction of the wind Elephant class have been learning about printing, exploring different ways to create printing tiles and seeing what they feel works best. Here they are using a foam tile, making an impression using a pencil. Last week Zebra and Lion class were exploring using the Beebots for the first time. They practised programming the Beebots to go a particular route and then watched as they moved along. |
