Last week the children in Lions class learnt about a real life superhero, Florence Nightingale. The children were really interested to learn about Florence’s life and tried to think about what it would have been like to live in Victorian times.
The children transformed themselves into nurses and soldiers by making hats and lanterns. The children then immersed themselves in a Crimean War Hospital role play. They pretended to be wounded soldiers that the nurses had to bandage up. They also had to clean the hospital to Florence’s high standards by getting rid of all the dirty dressing and rats, and use clean equipment.
