The children have been exploring the Autumn resources and then moved the pumpkins into different areas of the room, to incorporate them into their play.

The children have enjoyed starting P.E. sessions in the school hall. This week the children have enjoyed painting- making marks with paintbrushes and exploring freely mixing the colours. They have also started to learn how to paint blocks without mixing colours, inspired by Mondrian's art work. The children have been engrossed in water play outside and have then enjoyed mixing water with sand and mud to make potions and pies. The children discover a lot when investigating like this and practice their language and social skills too. The returning nursery children have been settling back in and we have also welcomed lots of new children and their families. They have all been exploring and playing in the different spaces, using their senses and interacting with each other. This week the nursery children have been noticing and investigating minibeasts in the nursery garden. They are loving their swimming lessons too!
The children have been exploring and making Easter decorations indoors and decorated a beautiful Easter tree outside. The children have loved hearing different versions of the story. They have been making bridges, planting seeds to grow a meadow of grass and drawing the Troll under the bridge. Outside we used props to make grass, a bridge and the river and played at being the troll and the goats... "trip, trap, trip, trap!" The children spend a lot of their day playing freely with the nursery resources and toys of their choice, in their own way. There is so much learning through this play. They develop their imaginations, build relationships and talk to the other children and adults and also use their muscles to practice fine and gross motor skills. |
