The children have been sharing the story "Owl Babies." We made owls from shapes and practised drawing an owl at group time. We then drew all the owls from the story. The children were amazing at talking about what happens in the book and drawing a big mummy owl and the smaller babies.

The children made predictions about what would happen to the skittles when we poured warm water in the middle. They were amazed at all the colours that made a striped rainbow circle in the middle. Some of the children could explain that the colours had come from the sweets and they were all surprised at the end when we turned the skittles over to see the bottom.
The children have been exploring shiny objects, lights, mirrors and lenses in the dark den and in other areas of the nursery.
The children have enjoyed collecting Autumn leaves and logs in wheelbarrows and used leaves with the water to make leaf soup. They played in The Jungle and pretended to have a campfire.
