In English, Year 2 have been studying the beautiful book, 'Augustus and His Smile'. They used the book as inspiration for their own stories and then chose a section of their story to illustrate. The Kingfisher class enjoyed using money to roleplay shops. The children had to select the correct coins to make an amount and use their subtraction skills to work out what change was needed. In gymanstics, we have been exploring jumping and bouncing in different ways. For our Computing lesson, we used the BeeBots to explore different algorithms. The Kingfisher children enjoyed exploring Ilfracombe to identify landmarks and features. They considered what makes our town unique and how people in the area live. Year 2 went on an exploration of the landmarks of Ilfracombe. We visited; Ilfracombe Landmark, the Museum, Fore Street, Ilfracombe Harbour and we went to look at Verity. We will be comparing Ilfracombe with London this term for our Geography learning, all about 'Bright Lights, Big City!' |
