This week, in Jellyfish class we have been experimenting with a variety of different 2D materials and looked into how we can manipulate them to be 3D. We have continued to explore the appearance of different birds and how we could fold, bend, tear and scrunch paper to create feather like features.

Starfish class had lots of fun doing their ‘Once Upon a Time’ engage day. They baked and decorated gingerbread man biscuits, made character masks, created a collaborate woodland art piece using charcoal and ink and went on a gingerbread man hunt around the school. The Seahorses loved learning about composting this week. We spent the day learning about what a coronation is. We learnt facts about our King, painted him, designed a new crown for him and more. In Jellyfish class we have been observing birds and exploring a range of different feathers. We have then been using a variety of materials and tools to create different effects when sketching. Seahorses had a wonderful day today learning about the king's coronation. We particularly enjoyed painting our portraits of King Charles. We have been learning all about the parts of flowers this week. We then worked together to make and label a model. We also used playdough to make flowers and threaded beads on the stems of flowers. Dolphin class had a fantastic time seeing all the different animals at the wildlife park. We particularly liked the wolves and we decided which one we thought pretended to be 'Grandma' and which one 'huffed and puffed' the houses down! Turtles had great fun visiting the dinosaur park this week. This week during our outdoor learning session we were looking at the different types of trees and plants growing around the school grounds. We learnt about deciduous and evergreen trees. We then went on a scavenger hunt to collect different types of leaves and had a go at carefully sketching them. |
