We have really enjoyed experimenting with floating and sinking. In the forest school area we investigated which materials would float and which would sink. We found out that a ball of Plasticine would sink so we posed ourselves a question: Can you make a ball of Plasticine float? We discovered that by changing the shape of the plasticine you could make it less dense than the water and so it would float!

Swans have loved being back together! On our first day back we immersed ourselves in our new topic Giants. We designed our own giant, painted them, created a giant town, sketched the giants favourite flower and created a character description of our imaginary giant. Swans are really enjoying looking at the work of Van Gogh. We have been focusing on how he used line, texture and shape within his work. We then imagined that we were looking out of a window on a starry night and that we could see a beanstalk growing! |
