Elephants have learnt about the ‘Lady of The Lamp’ Florence Nightingale and how she transformed hospitals and the training of nurses in the Victorian age. We found out about her life, especially in the Crimean War. We made our own nurse's lamp and also a Crimean War soldier’s hat. We also experienced what a ‘hospital’ was like at the time. We had to clean the hospital to make it ‘germ free’ for the injured soldiers and then we each took care of the sick.

Come rain or come shine Elephants Class enjoying being out in the Forest School area for our Outdoor Learning.
Elephants Class went to RHS Rosemoor for a day of 'Inspirational Nature'. We made our own native animals out of clay and fallen natural materials that we had found in the gardens. We also created shelters and food for our creatures in the woodland.
Elephants class had great fun being superheroes this week. We had an engage day where we made superhero capes and masks and superhero puppets. Then we had a superhero training camp in the hall where we learnt to jump, leap, swing, slide, climb and roll just like superheroes. In the afternoon we made shelters for our mini superhero figures in the forest school area using lots of natural resources that we found out there.
