The children were really lucky to have 2 amazing visitors this week. Frist to visit was Clive PiG an amazing story teller who captivated the children with his rhymes and stories. The following day we were joined by children's author Sarah Tagholm who shared her story 'Brenda's Revenge'. The children had a great time drawing pictures of Brenda and playing musical catues (cat statues). The children were also given a book each thanks to the Appledore Book Festival.

This week the children were lucky enough to have Clive PiG, an international storyteller come and share silly stories and nursery rhymes with the help of his monkey stick. We were also visited by Sarah Tagholm, a children's author, as part of the Appledore Book Festival. She shared to of her own stories, played 'catues' (cat statues) with us and showed us how to draw our own Brenda the Cat character. We were even provided with our own storybooks to shared at home. The children were fantastic at working together to compare numbers using the correct inequality symbols.As part of our art, we have been exploring spirals. We used a range of materials to make spirals inspired by different things, such as hot spirals, bubble spirals, snowy spirals. We then created our own snail spirals using oil pastels. The children enjoyed their 'Tell Me a Story' engage day. We made delicious pig face biscuits which we decorated with icing and raisins. We then made and decorated a basket to take the biscuits home in, The children created their own fairytale woodland scene using oil pastels and brushoed the background. We finished the day by making a wolf or pig face using a range of materials and skills. Zebras class had a wonderful engage day for our new topic based on traditional tales. The children baked pig face biscuits, decorated with pink icing and raisins. They also created lovely fairy tale forest art work using oil pastel and Brusho and made pig and wolf faces using their drawing and cutting skills. Finally, the children made and decorated baskets for them to take their delicious biscuits home. |
