EThe children in Lions enjoyed learning about the Muslim celebration of Eid. This is a celebration for the end of Ramadan. The children learnt about what happens during Ramadan and Eid. They made crescent moon and star biscuits which were taken home to share with family and friends. The children also made little prayer mats, looking at the patterns and details from some examples. They then wrote about Eid inside a Mosque template which the children decorated with gold and silver geometric shapes.
Elephants Class had a wonderful engage day to introduce our new topic 'Enchanted Woodland'. We explored the school's outside areas to identify plants and trees and we also created our own tree spirits out of clay. After sketching trees using pencil and charcoal, we then created a collaborative picture of a woodland using charcoal and Indian ink. Finally, we sculpted our own trees out of clay.
